Plans for the Anniversary Celebrations :

On 3rd July we begin the celebration and the focus shifts to Santo Estevam where we will conduct a full scale drawing competition for 600 school children of the village followed by lunch.  There will be prizes in different categories. The drawing material is sponsored by Crescencia Educational Trust and the lunch sponsored by Dr. Rachita Velho (Verner's wife).

On 4th July we will have a concelebrated Mass at 8.00 a.m. at St. Estevam Church followed by visit to the tomb stone of grandfather, and lunch in the Church yard for the parishioners of St. Estevam, family and some invitees.  There will be some speeches and eulogies too.  The lunch is sponsored by Veronica & Virgilio.

On 6th July, Anysia (Sanchas' daughter) is holding a painting competiion for the hearing impaired in Sanjay School where she's the Principal.   There will be 70 participants from 8 different schools. Prizes will be given under different categories.

On 9th July, we shift the focus to Panjim.

Homage will be paid at the monument at 8.00 a.m. The Mayor, Gen. Sunith Rodrigues and probably the Chief Minister will garland the statue.  Again brief speeches/eulogies.  Thereafter Elvira has invited the guests for coffee at her house.  We will be putting an ad/announcement about this in the papers so that neighbours/friends feel free to attend.

In the evening we will have the commemorative function at Hotel Marriott.  Tentatively the programme has been fixed as follows:

1)Welcome address by Dr. Bailon De Sa (to confirm)

2)Introduction of dignitaries by Cesar Menezes.

3)Talk by Mr. Julio Ribeiro (to confirm).

4)Address by Chief Guest Gen Sunith Rodrigues.

5)Release of Book by Governor or Chief Minister (to confirm).

6)Prize distribution to winners of school drawing competition.

7)Prize distribution to winners of Hearing impaired

8)Presentation of Mementos to Distinguished Doctors for selfless service i.e. Dr. Pedro Monteiro, Dr. Damodar Bhounsle, Dr. Dilip Amonkar, Dr. Oswald De Sa.

9)Awarding the fellowship on Geriatric Medicines

10)Vote of thanks.

11)Dinner.
